New Parenting Study

Tim Maddox will lead a six week study called Parenting is Heart Work by Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller beginning Wednesday, Jan. 21, 6-7p.m., in A-9.

Community Blood Drive at CUMC

As part of the Community Health and Wellness Fair on Wednesday, February 4th, Blood Assurance will serve our community by collecting blood donations. 

Crown Financial Ministry

Bob Lutte will lead this 7-week series that combines biblical teaching about money with practical application skills. Wednesday nights, 6:00, beginning February 11th.  

Math and PE Teachers Needed

We will conduct a workshop for teachers in South Sudan May 18 – 22, 2015.  If you are interested in going on this mission or want to know more, phone Pastor David Hall at 240-0069 right away for details.

Mom2Mom

Mom2Mom invite moms of infants through teenagers to our next series. Dr. Cathy Turner will lead Finding Purpose in Women of the Bible by Dr. Cathy Turner beginning Thursday, Jan. 15, 10:00, in room M-5.

Partnership Meals

In 2012, two teams began providing a monthly meal to the residents of Partnership’s Family Violence Crisis Center.  The Center accepts families in crisis at any time help is needed. 

Tai Chi for Arthritis

Kim Davis, a certified teacher for TCA, will lead this class on Thursday evenings beginning September 11, 6:00-7:00, in the Trinity-Woodmore Chapel.

Mediterranean Cruise

It is not too late to sign-up for our Mediterranean cruise,  a journey through the steps of Paul, September 9-18, 2015.

Is a ministry for those in our community with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. 

Building Fund Update

Giving to the Building Fund is exceeding our pledges!  If you continue to give at this level, we can totally pay off our building debt in just over ten years at projected interest rates.  This is our plan, so please continue to give as you are now giving.  If you have not yet started giving to the Building Fund, please do so.  To see a graph of giving to date vs. pledged amounts by month, click here.

iStudy - Churchwide Study

iStudy: Basic Bible Study for Christians  by Rev. Mark Flynn is a daily devotional using key passages from the Bible. You will decide how much time you can devote to this study.

Widow's Harvest Project

Christ Church is partnering with the Chattanooga non-profit ministry, Widow's Harvest to provide much needed home repairs and maintenance to widow's in our community.  

Insure Tennessee Initiative

Bishop Mary Virginia Taylor has written an episcopal letter for all United Methodist sisters and brothers in Christ living in the Holston Conference, encouraging support for the Insure Tennessee initiative. 

Mustard Tree Ministry

Mustard Tree Ministries reaches out to those in need, often homeless, by meeting basic and spiritual needs and offering love and support.

Community Health & Wellness Fair

Christ UMC will host a free Community Health and Wellness Fair on Wednesday, February 4th, from 5-7 PM. This event will be in place of our regular Wednesday evening classes for adults; children’s programs will be on a regular schedule.

Mad Hatter's Tea Party & Lunch

Join us on Saturday, March 14th in The Commons for the Annual Mad Hatter's Tea Party & Lunch.

Christ Church could not function without the large cadre of leaders that we have serving in a variety of areas.  Each year at our Charge Conference we elect Church Council members.  

 

WOW - Women of Worth

WOW (Women of Worth) invite all women to their upcoming series beginning Wednesday, Jan. 14, 10:00, in the Youth Center. Dr. Cathy Turner will lead a session on Finding Balance in 2015. 

Back and Joint Care Pilates

Care & Share Ministry

ImageThe Care & Share Ministry provides meals for families in our church that are going through a crisis and are not involved in a Sunday School class or small group.   

Young Adults Group

Christ United Methodist Church is very blessed to have an active and energetic Young Adults Ministry. This ministry is geared towards 18-35 year olds.

Ladies Supper Club

The Ladies Supper Club will be meeting Tuesday, February 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at Cheddars on Gunbarrel Rd.

 

Room In The Inn Volunteers

Room In The Inn is a local shelter for women and their children who are in need of short-term food and lodging.  Christ Church provides the evening meal 2 times a month. 

Calling Hospitality Servants

Openings are available in the donut cutting and coffee ministries.  Donut ministry involves cutting and setting out donuts for two services; requires 1-2 hours about once per quarter.  

Baked Blessings

Baked Blessings, a ministry of Christ Church, is an opportunity for individuals or families to bake cookies or brownies for people who are homeless.
