Business Women’s Lunch

All business women are invited to our lunch, Tuesday, April 7th, at noon in the meeting room at Chicken Salad Chick, 629 Market St. 

Fun-Day Sunday

Come join us on Sunday, April 12, for a very special day!  We are doing it again – on the Sunday after Easter, we will have one huge worship service outside on our church lawn, followed by lunch, inflatable games, a petting zoo, pony rides, youth Gaga ball, and lots of fun for all.  Worship music will start at 10:00 on the grassy area in front of the church. 

VBS 2015 - Volunteers Needed

The VBS week at Christ Church is one of the most life-changing weeks of the year.  Much time, energy, and resources are dedicated to this week because some kids who come through the doors may never have opened a Bible or know much about God at all.

Iron Sharpens Iron Men’s Conference coming to Christ Church!

Men, mark your calendars for Saturday April 18.  On that day, Christ Church is privileged to host the Iron Sharpens Iron National Men’s Equipping Conference.  

 

Adoption and Foster Care

On April 10 and 11, Ooltewah United Methodist Church is hosting Empowered to Connect, a conference put on by Show Hope, which is Steven Curtis Chapman's adoption and orphan ministry.

Food For Thought

Come join us in Food For Thought for a great study for Lent. Starting Feb. 18th. We will be studying, The God We Can Know by Rob Fuquay. 

 

High School Youth Summer Mission Trip

This year the high school mission trip will be to Charleston, SC!  In Charleston we will be joining up with other mission minded students through Group Missions to serve the community by building relationships and assisting orphans, widows, and to do community service for those in need in Charleston.

Partnership Meals

In 2012, two teams began providing a monthly meal to the residents of Partnership’s Family Violence Crisis Center.  The Center accepts families in crisis at any time help is needed. 

Tai Chi for Arthritis

Kim Davis, a certified teacher for TCA, will lead this class on Thursday evenings beginning September 11, 6:00-7:00, in the Trinity-Woodmore Chapel.

Run for God

Christ Church is hosting the second season of Run for God, a couch to 5K/10K ministry for children, youth, almost adults, and adults that incorporates Bible study, fellowship and small group training.  

Let’s Sing from Memory

Is a ministry for those in our community with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. 

Building Fund Update

Giving to the Building Fund is exceeding our pledges!  If you continue to give at this level, we can totally pay off our building debt in just over ten years at projected interest rates.  This is our plan, so please continue to give as you are now giving.  If you have not yet started giving to the Building Fund, please do so.  To see a graph of giving to date vs. pledged amounts by month, click here.

We have created a blog to help keep everyone up to date on the progress of Grace Home, the orphanage being built in the South Sudan.

Christ's Chauffers

There are members of our congregation who have difficulty finding transportation to various medical appointments.  If you would be willing to be a part of our “Christ’s Chauffeurs” ministry, please contact Debbie Hafling at 718-0377. 

iStudy - Churchwide Study

iStudy: Basic Bible Study for Christians  by Rev. Mark Flynn is a daily devotional using key passages from the Bible. You will decide how much time you can devote to this study.

Costa Rica Mission Team Fundraiser

Come join us at the Applebee’s Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on April 18th to support the June 2015 Costa Rica Mission Trip. 

Nursery Workers Needed

CUMC has openings for paid nursery worker positions. We are looking for adults with availability on Sundays, Wednesday nights and various weekdays and weeknights. 

L.I.F.E. Now Enrolling

ImageLIFE is an educational and enrichment program for persons 50 years and over.  The Spring Session runs from April 9 - May 28 in the Adult Building.

Midsouth Symphonic Band Free Concert

On April 19, the Midsouth Symphonic Band will be hosting a free concert in the Sanctuary at 2:30 p.m. For more information go www.midsouthsymphonicband.org.

 

East Ridge Elementary

East Ridge Elementary is in need of volunteers to help in their Kindergarten classes. The school’s eight Kindergarten classes need volunteers to aid teachers between 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Monday-Friday. 

New Singles Study

Fusion Singles for ages 30-59 will begin a new study Wednesday night, March 4, called Single Men Are Like Waffles, Single Women Are Like Spaghetti. The study is 6:30 – 7:30 in M-5 with social time at 6:00.

 

Mustard Tree Ministry

Mustard Tree Ministries reaches out to those in need, often homeless, by meeting basic and spiritual needs and offering love and support. 

Christ Church Community Garden 2015

Spring is here and Christ Church’s Community Garden is getting started! Did you know that Christ Church donate 100% of the produce grown in our garden to persons in need?

Care & Share Ministry

ImageThe Care & Share Ministry provides meals for families in our church that are going through a crisis and are not involved in a Sunday School class or small group.   

Young Adults Group

Christ United Methodist Church is very blessed to have an active and energetic College and Young Adults Ministry. This ministry is geared towards 18-35 year olds.

Ladies Supper Club

The Ladies Supper Club will be meeting Tuesday, April 7th at 6:00 p.m. at The Chop House on Gunbarrel Rd.

Room In The Inn Volunteers

Room In The Inn is a local shelter for women and their children who are in need of short-term food and lodging.  Christ Church provides the evening meal 2 times a month. 

Calling Hospitality Servants

Openings are available in the donut cutting and coffee ministries.  Donut ministry involves cutting and setting out donuts for two services; requires 1-2 hours about once per quarter.  

Baked Blessings

Baked Blessings, a ministry of Christ Church, is an opportunity for individuals or families to bake cookies or brownies for people who are homeless.
