Habitat for Humanity Faith House Build
Christ Church is partnering with other area churches to build the first Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga’s Faith House. Thanks to your generosity to the general budget, Shan and Trey Melvin (mom & son) will be the homeowners of a new home in East Chattanooga. Christ Church is scheduled to raise the exterior and interior walls of this home on October 28th.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area is a locally organized and governed nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization that has been building simple, decent and affordable homes in Chattanooga, Tennessee, since 1986. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga partners with volunteers and low income families to build affordable housing. The houses are sold to these families at no profit and with no interest. Since its inception, Habitat for Humanity has been working in partnership with hard working low-income families in Chattanooga to build and finance new, safe, affordable homes. The program makes homeownership possible for families who are unable to qualify for traditional home loans but have a stable job, good or no credit, and the willingness to contribute sweat equity to the building of Habitat homes. Christ Church is excited to partner with Habitat for Humanity to help the Melvin family.
There are several different ways you can get involved:
*Pray: You can do this from the comfort of your own home!! We want to cover this house and family in prayer and we have made it easy for you to join in. Stop by the Habitat Table in the Connector Hallway today to pick a prayer card off of a tree. Each card has a specific thing to pray for and at a specified time.
