Service Saturday 2018

Join other persons from Christ Church and United Methodists from around Chattanooga for a day of serving our city! There are morning and afternoon opportunities for elementary students to adults!  Meet at Christ Church at 8:00am on February 24th for prayer and communion prior to heading out to our various service locations.  Please sign up by clicking the button below.

Morning Opportunities 
Camp Lookout - Helping Camp maintain its beauty and usability. Breakfast & lunch served free of charge.  Note: times are 7:30 - 3:00.
Bethlehem Center - Come help with various tasks around this great mission. For teens and up.
Bethlehem – Wiley UMC - Needs help cleaning the building to help it continue to reach out to the heart of Chattanooga.
McFarland Free Store - Help sort items for the free store at McFarland UMC in Rossville.
Red Cross Smoke Detector Installation - Help check the safety of smoke detectors in our community and install new detectors.  Groups will be one Red Cross Volunteer and two from our group. Please feel free to sign up with your kids older elementary and up. No need to know how to install a smoke detector. Training starts promptly at 9:00 at Christ Church.  May go until 1:00. 
Christ Church Community Garden - Help put down mulch and prep the garden for spring planting.  
Afternoon Opportunities 
Tri-State Food Pantry - Help pack boxes of food for the Tri-State Food Pantry located at Trenton, GA . For 16 and up.
Brainerd UMC - Participate in various activities like, making blankets and packing kits for the homeless, making cards for missionaries, and more. Kid Friendly!
Hosanna Community - Help clear brush and fallen trees and build it into a bonfire! Please bring tools for clearing brush. If the weather is bad there are indoor projects.  In Hixson area. 

 6) Zoe McDonough Foundation- Tutu making and cement flag stand making @ CUMC.  The women and girls will be making tutus and the men and boys will be making cement flag bases.  The tutus will be sold at Zoe’s Rainbow Dash being held July, 4 2013 to support childrens charities including TN Baptist Children's Home, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Bethlehem Center, The Ronald McDonald House and Children's Hospital Foundation. The flag stands will used race day to mark the course.
