Mustard Tree Ministry

Mustard Tree Ministries reaches out to those in need, often homeless, by meeting basic and spiritual needs and offering love and support.

Mustard Tree Ministries is led by Pastor Barry Kidwell. The Mustard Tree group meets every Thursday evening for Bible study, fellowship, and a hot meal at First Baptist Church, 401 Gateway Avenue, 37402. The ministry meets in the dining room, which is entered in the rear of the building from the lower parking lot.

In months with a fifth Thursday, Christ UMC and Red Bank UMC partner to prepare and serve the food. In 2018, Christ UMC will be preparing and serving dinner for Mustard Tree Ministries on the following days:

  • Thursday, May 31st
  • Thursday, August 30th
  • Thursday, November 29th

Servers are needed to help put food on plates, take food to our guests, clean up, as well as offer a smile or conversation to those present. Servers should arrive at 5:45 and are usually done around 7:00 PM. This ministry is a wonderful opportunity for service groups or families (older children) to share.
