The Power of a Simple Gift

Jesus said “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these”, - Matthew 19:14, NIV
Have you ever thought about God’s love showing up in a shoebox?  Since 1993, more than 146 million boys and girls in over 150 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoebox gifts from Operation Christmas Child.
Operation Christmas Child is a ‘global Christmas gift exchange’ project operated by Samaritan’s Purse.  Each November the organization collects thousands of shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, personal items, and other gifts.  These boxes are then distributed as Christmas gifts.  Included in their box is a booklet, in their language, which tells them of God’s love.  Afterward children are encouraged to return to the local church for a six-week class to learn more about Jesus.  Would you be a part of touching the life of a child?  Participating is as simple as 1, 2, 3.
1.  Beginning Sunday, Nov.10 pick up your box and instructions at the Info Desks or the display in the Connector
2.  Fill your box with items for either a boy or girl.
3.  Then return it to the atrium NO LATER THAN Sunday Nov. 24th.
Prayer is the cornerstone of Operation Christmas Child, and you are encouraged to make prayer the foundation of all your planning and Operation Christmas Child activities.
