All of our services are around 45 minutes long and include powerful preaching that is based on the Bible that encourages, challenges, and inspires us in our daily lives.
MINISTRY
Scripture makes it clear to us that service is not only a way to give glory to God, but also helps spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. At Christ Church there are many ways that you can serve, in the church, our community, and around the world!
SERVING
Our goal is to help each person grow in their relationship with God and in real community with each other. That is why it doesn’t matter what you wear – what matters is that we glorify God together. Some wear their Sunday best, others wear their shorts and t-shirts. Wear what makes you comfortable!
We offer specific study groups, life stage groups and topical groups. Small Groups are offered on Sunday mornings, Sunday nights and Wednesday nights. Additionally, groups meet throughout the week during the day and evening at the church and in homes. Look through our listing of groups and find one that meets your needs.

Thinking About Joining Christ Church?
Learn more about becoming a member of Christ Church.
Joining the church is an important step, as it gives you a sense of ownership, belonging, and accountability in your new church home. We believe that we best live out our faith in Christ as part of the church, and we are pleased that you are considering joining the church.
If you are not yet a Christian, you would profess your faith in Christ and be baptized if you havevnot done that. If you are currently a member of another church, we will notify your church when you join us, and they will remove you from their membership roll. You may have heard this described as “transferring your letter.” If you were a member of another church but have been inactive such that they may have removed your name from membership, you would just join us on what is called “restoration.” We make joining the church as simple as possible. There are no required classes or other requirements.
If you are considering joining, please contact Pastor David at 423-402-0621 or at evangelism@christchurchchatt.org, and he will walk you through the process, answer any questions you may have, and arrange a time for you to join when you are ready. People can choose to join in a worship service or privately in the pastor’s office. That choice is yours, and we want you to feel welcome to join but feel no pressure about your decision.
Your membership vow is a positive response to this question, “Will you be faithful to Christ United Methodist Church and participate fully in its ministries through your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness?” We like all our members to have at least one ministry in which they
serve inside the church and at least one in which they serve outside in the community. We will help you find and select those when you are ready to do so.
In the United Methodist Church, we use all three modes of baptism…sprinkling (the most common mode for us), pouring, and immersion, and the person being baptized selects the mode they prefer. We believe that God is the active agent in baptism and that God never gets it wrong,
so we do not repeat baptisms. This means that we accept and recognize baptisms performed in all Christian churches and denominations. We baptize infants and young children, and if you are interested in having a child baptized, please contact our office manager, Michele Bailey, at officemanager@christchurchchatt.org or 423-892-9363. If you have any questions about that, please contact Pastor Jeff or Pastor David, and they will be happy to help you.
