COSTA RICA MISSION TRIP
The 2025 Costa Rica Mission Trip will be Saturday June 7th-June 14th, 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to travel to beautiful Costa Rica and work with fellow believers to help build a new church plant in El Tigre, Costa Rica. El Tigre is a small town about 2 hours north of San Jose. Experience the Holy Spirit at work during worship services with the local Methodist congregation.
Informational meetings will be held Sunday January 19th at 10:20 am and 12:05 pm in room M-3.
COSTA RICA METHODIST CHILDREN’S HOME
Each year our church helps support this home located in Coronado, a suburb of the capitol, San Jose. The home is there for children declared legally abandoned by the child welfare agency of Costa Rica. These children stay there until adopted, returned to their biological families or leave when they become of age. Through last year, there were a total of 81 children administered to, of which 23 were adopted, 28 returned to family members. There are 23 children living in the home today.
An easy way to support The Costa Rica Methodist Children’s Home is by purchasing Seriously Good Coffee. All proceeds from the sales of this coffee goes directly to this organization. It is seriously good! https://seriouslygoodcoffee.com
In addition to supporting this ministry financially, our church has a mission trip each year to Costa Rica. What a great way to give of your skills and heart. For more information or to learn more about joining the next mission trip contact Mike Feely at missions@christchurchchatt.org.
TRINITY HOPE
This is a mission supported by our church that helps feed children, teachers and cooks in 119 Christian schools in the country of Haiti. Approximately 480,000 meals per month are served and for about 50% of the recipients, it represents the only meal they will have all day. This meal was developed by a Vanderbilt University nutritionist and consists of rice or corn, beans and a high protein mix of tomato paste, dried herring, oil, seasoning and water. The total cost per meal is approximately $.25.
In addition to feeding these folks, Trinity Hope provides approximately 350 jobs for local Haitians and spends nearly $750,000 buying the food from local sources. To learn more about this organization visit www.trinityhope.org.

Today the Henderson Settlement operates in Frakes, KY and White Oak, TN. It operates several projects for the betterment of the citizens of this area. Its mission statement “Creating opportunities for better lives through Christ-Centered services” is demonstrated by the multiple services it provides.

PROJECT 541
Project 541 is an organization which is committed to supporting and empowering women and girls of La Moskitia, Honduras. Their goal is to give women and girls the skills needed to create a sustainable future for their family and their community. This is located on the east coast of Honduras in a very impoverished portion of the country with few services.
In this area girls are not expected to be educated beyond the sixth grade and serve only as house servants and to raise families. Currently they rent a three bedroom home with 8 residents living in it ranging in age from 18 months to 17 years. The children under Project 541’s care are not in a temporary group home, but they are an organization that will give them a permanent place to grow up and a family to be a part of.

PROJECT CROSSROADS
This is a mission of the United Methodist Church and is supported by our church. Headquartered in Marion, Virginia its’ mission is to serve the needs of God’s children through home repair, new home construction, firewood delivery and emergency assistance.
This is a mission where you can volunteer your time in any of the above activities taking place now or they need firewood splitters and stackers every fall. For more information you can go http://projectcrossroads.org/.
GRACE HOME CHILDREN
In 2013 our church chose a mission of mercy by building Grace Home to house 24 orphaned children in South Sudan. This project was under the supervision of Christ Church members Fred and Libby Dearing who volunteered their time and energy to see this mission project completed. Subsequently a second building was added by another church and the population grew to 36 parentless children.
In 2016 fighting broke out in South Sudan and these children along with thousands of others fled to a United Nations refugee camp in Uganda where they and the staff currently reside. Our church and the Holston Conference continue to support these children and the staff with permanent shelter, food, clothing, and education while they are in exile. Fred and Libby travel regularly to visit and minister to these children and would appreciate your prayers.
